Here's a new editing reel to celebrate my first full year of working freelance! It's been a scary, stressful, rewarding year of working on some super cool projects with some insanely talented people.
I'm excited to work on and share more projects in the future, including my first feature film edit on Dog Days: In the Heartland, which is finally just about wrapped up completely! So looking forward to sharing more news about that later this spring!
Had the pleasure of editing this music video for Low Weather over the winter. Very happy with how it turned out!
Courtney and I recently took our good friend Micki to a graveyard and took pictures of her with some mirrors. These are some of the pictures I took that didn't look like a mess.
I went to Arizona recently and never shared these photos. So I am now sharing some of my favorites.
I've never been good at describing the creative process behind creating experimental video, so I'll summarize by saying this was shot entirely with an iPhone, no after effects were used, and a lot of experimenting was done. I've always been inspired by Jake leech, through his music and his friendship, so an artistic collaboration felt like a natural progression. Although both pieces were conceived separately, they fit together so well to me that it only felt appropriate to label the video as a visual accompaniment to his music, almost like a video to his music. A music video.
Editor's note: one shot was filmed with a Canon 5D Mark III. First person to guess correctly is good at guessing.
Recently edited a couple of promotional videos for Collin Garrity, a local woodworker in St. Louis. I worked alongside Sean Funcik and Marcus Stabenow, who shot the video and were in charge of the design aspect of his fundraising campaign. Check out the video and Collin's campaign here:

Between editing a feature film, freelancing for multiple ad agencies, and working on promotional videos for local artists and entrepreneurs, it's been a busy year! I wanted to share some work I've recently done, and give some shout outs to the talented and wonderful individuals involved in the process.
Ricky Montgomery - Dont Know How
I had the pleasure of editing the "Dont Know How" for Ricky Montgomery, which was shot by the talented, and at this point seasoned music video veteran, Dylan Schnitker (check out his videos for Foxing).
Dog Days: In The Heartland (Teasers #1 & #2)
Along with editing both teasers for "Dog Days: In The Heartland", a film directed by Chad Carpenter of Middle West Movies, I've been working as Senior Editor on the project, and am currently working on the rough cut of the film. Expect more news throughout the summer!
Editing Reel (2016)
I also majorly updated my editing reel, which I'm super proud of, and would be thrilled if you checked it out!
I'll be updating the blog with a few projects I'm very excited about throughout the next month as well!
As 2015 comes to an end, it seems like a fitting time to put together a small demo reel of some of the projects I've worked on in the past year. Most can be seen on the website, others will be coming out in 2016. Enjoy!
Here are a collection of pictures I've taken over the past 2-3 months. A mix of Portra 160, 400, Fuji Superia 800, and Fuji Neopan 400.
I recently had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful wedding in St. Genevieve for Andrew and Ashley. Outdoor weddings are always risky business, but theirs ended up being #blessed with great weather and clear skies (for the most part). It's always nice to shoot weddings for cool couples, and Andrew and Ashley are most definitely a cool couple. Enjoy!
Here are some photos I took last month. Will hopefully have more to share very soon. That's it.
Moved into a new place and added a new kitten to the family. Decided to document it by testing out the 800 Cine Still Tungsten balanced film. Let the grain rain down.
Dear avid blog reader, where have I been? I've been working for a wonderful ad agency named Deep Focus for the past couple months as one of their full time videographers/photographers/video editors, and have been mostly creating videos and pictures of adorable pups. The following are a small collection of photos I've managed to take over the past few months. I hope to take many, many more very, very soon.
So I totally almost forgot about the soccer game we attended in Sicily this January. To make up for not sharing this sooner, I've included a bonus picture of Juni.
It's an incredible honor and relief to be able to finally share the Indie Go Go campaign for Courtney Miener's (http://www.courtneyleephoto.com/) new short film Vagari. I helped co-write the script and will be serving as Assistant Director on the set. We're all super excited to begin production on this film, and I am in love with the style and direction we're heading in. It's such a great feeling to have a clear mind about how you want a film to be, eliminating all self-doubt and insecurities from the equation. I feel so confident and inspired by this film that I can't wait for Courtney to share it with the world. The only hurdle is that we need help funding the project from the community.

So here it is, the last blog post of photos I took in Sicily during the second week of January, 2015. It has always been a surreal experience getting to spend so much of my life in Sicily, and even more getting to photograph it. I owe every experience and fantastic memory to my dad for giving me the opportunity to go back time and time again, and for being the best host anybody could ever imagine, and to Courtney for sharing every breathtaking view and incredible meal with me and making it some of the greatest moments of my life. I look forward to returning time and time again and flooding my website and social media pages and every possible outlet I can imagine with photo after photo of a place that will continue to inspire me and be my second home for the rest of my life.
